First Light Farm

We operate a small-scale Certified Organic Vegetable Farm in City Limits of Revelstoke.

With just 1.5 acres in production we pack a lot into a little space and are constantly trying to maximize and build soil health for the long term in order to continue supporting a diverse & intensive market garden. We grow a diversity of crops and follow a crop rotation to balance our land use and intensive growing areas across the property.

We used cover crops to support the soil biology and nutrient cycling, we aim to minimize our use of plastic on the farm by not using typical techniques like single use plastic mulch for weed suppression. We compost and as we are certified organic; this means all ingredients used are researched and checked by a third body and the organic association to avoid the use of destructive industrial processing and sources and to ensure all our growing methods are inspected annually in order to comply with the Organic Standards.
